please help with my 30hp

hi fellow boaters.....ive just joined and would like to know if anyone can help me find my seriel number, i know it should be near the transome on a little metal plate but its not, ive looked with a fine toothcomb, these are the only numbers i can see.....XK 19074-C2........890-821358-02...........and...821331-C1 do these numbers mean anything to anybody, i believe the engine to be approx year 2003ish its a 2 cylinder 30hp mariner...thanks and look forward to hearing from you....gaz

Can you lift the cover off the powerhead and see if you can see a dollar sized plug with the s/n information on it?

I merged your two posts together since they both ask the same question.

If your serial number is correct, and came from the core plug, the motor is a 1999 Mariner 40hp 2 cylinder. Model # 7041203HB

There is a 30hp with your s/n between the following ranges.

30 (2 CYL.) 0P017000 THRU 0P325499

0P047709 is his serial number, there is no other numbers after the 9. His serial number IS within the range you stated.

Your engine is a 99.
The 2003 Gerry posted after the part number for the manual, is the year of the last update to the manual.
