Hi to all.My boat has a mercury 115hp s/n 6524946 (1984 i think...?)

Am i looking at the right wiring diagram for this motor.

Yes your engine is a 1984 as you will see on the same site and the wiring schematic is for 115 V6 engines s/n 5594657 and up.

Thanks Gerry , My engine is an inline not a V . Would it be the same diagram.?

Yes, that is why I said that the schematic was for V6s. If you don't have a manual, the P/N for your engine is 90-861344, priced about $85. I was just checking to see if I had one but maybe someone else who has an inline six would be good enough to copy the page for you.

What is the problem you are having?

To be honest , i have just closed the deal so i think i can call it my boat.I'm picking it up next weekend.....
When i went to look at it , before taking the cowl off , the guy selling said that it had some wiring issues.It cranked over so i was able to do a compression test which was fine , also spark looked good.There was allot of corrosion on the internal harness that is going to have to be addressed for sure.Until i start going through things I'm not sure how bad it is just yet.
It does look like someone has tried before and failed.
When i pick it up and before i touch anything , ill take some photos and post them up.
