1974 evenrude 115 hp power loss

hi everybody,
i have a 1974 evenrude 115 on my 25 ft pontoon when i take off the carbs and clean them it runs beutifull untill the first time i shut it off or idle for a little while its like i lose 2 cyls i checked the compression i have between 130 and 140 in all 4 cyl i think one of my flote needles is sticking any ideas?

Sometimes an ignition coil will act up after it gets warm and give the symptoms you describe. There is a web site called www.cdielectronics.com that has the methods posted for testing ignition coils.

Put an inductive timing light on all 4 plugwires next time you go out boating. The flashes in the gun will tell you about the quality of the spark to each plug. That's great compression!
