Trolling motor battery location

I'm rigging up my trolling motor and was looking at my boat before batteries installed and the rear sits pretty low in the water as is. I'm wondering if it might be better to mount both trolling motor batteries in the front of the boat to balance things out. Has anyone done this and if so how does it work?

Re: Trolling motor battery location

There are two reasons to mount the batteries as close to the motor as possible. 1) Weight distribution and 2) run of wire. The longer the run of wire the larger it must be (and cost more as well).
