Someone has told me that carbs from a larger motor (dont know what size) will up the hp due to the same block being used. Its a 1976 merc 400EL kifr 40hp super thunderbolt.
ser. 190376. if so, what else has to be done to compensate...prop...time..? motor seems to be slow to begin with.
