I have a 1956 16 HP Scott-Atwater and I was wondering if I could find an online repair manual for it. Also I was wondering if I mix the two stroke oil into the gas or if it injected also what is the ration of gas to oil

www.acmeoutboards.com has a Scott-Atwater service manual on CD for 1946-1956 models. Mix the oil, TCW-3, with the gas by pouring the oil into the tank before you fill it...ratio should be 16:1 or 24:1, either will work with TCW-3 marine oil...wallyworld sells a $4 mixing bottle that eliminates the guess work in mixing.

I have had several of the 5hp models. All of them were pretty good motors. The original mix ratio was 16:1 with 30wt motor oil. I tried that ratio with TCW3 and it would definately keep the moquitos away. I bumped it up slowly and finally found that 24:1 was the best.
