I'm having trouble getting the tilt assist cylinder to release. I replaced this cylinder on my 13 foot boston whaler classic with a 1992 johnson J40EENJ motor about 5 years ago and used it less than 25 times since. It has been sitting for about a year.
I have disconnected the cable, and got the release to work smoothly, manually, but when I hook the cable up, it will not release. The cable appears to be in good working order, but I suspect it to be the culprit. Anyone know where to get a cable for this thing. I've looked local and on the internet to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
