I have decided to give my 83 15hp to a family member, and get myself a 6HP kicker.

Are the 92-98 6hp good motors? I had someone telling me the cowls fall off while running the motor???

They seem hard to find, which makes me think people keep them when they have them?

So are they good? Anyone have one they would let go of?

Hi i have a Evinrude 6hp 1993 model that I use as a kicker on my 16 foot smokercraft. I love the motor it is simple to take care of and one of the best idling engines I've found. The one flaw it goes have is the design of the cowl latch. witch is all cheap plastic. Mine is cracked in the latch it's self but still remain shut. You cannot find new ones and if you do they are spendy. All in all I think it is an excellent motor......Robert
