Narrowing down my search and have found some nice Regals in the 26-27' range. Really like the 9'6" beam on these and the cabin layout. Anyone offer thoughts or opinions? Second owner boat with all service records. Very clean, and many extras including ac/heat, GPS Chart Plotter, newer 454 with 200 hours. Outdrive serviced past fall with gimbal and bellows replaced.

1991, glad to here your neighbor had a good experience. I think I'd rather go a little older and get a better built boat with more room, than settle for a lesser brand and narrower beam.

Okay, I'll bite. Mercruiser or Volvo? Not OMC, right? :)

The wider beam is really nice, and the main reason I upgraded to the Four Winns. Unfortunate that Regal doesn't keep archival materials on the boat, but I checked out the '91 on Yachtworld. Is that it?

Yup Mercruiser 7.4 and Bravo 2. Not the 91 from Long Island, it is a midwestern freshwater boat. I wanted to get a little newer, but this one is really clean and well kept with all maint. records. Think I found most the info about the boat, but apperciate everyones thoughts.

If the boat's in good shape I think you'll be very happy with the choice. I'd have liked a little newer too, but the older ones have a lot more room in them. Mine is about the last Vista built before Four Winns (and everybody else) caught the 'swoopy shape' virus. The difference in usable space between a '91 and a '01 of the same length is significant.

I always suggest a survey, particularly on a boat that's 20 years old. Best of luck!

Thank you for your thoughts. I agree that sometimes "new and improved" isn't. I wish I had $50K to spend, but was always brough up to pay cash for toys. This limits my spend to the late 80's/early 90's and this boat seem to be a very nice example of that era.
