While i have my 97 volvo 5.7 gs motor out of the boat what would yall do to it?
i was going to replace the oil pump.....but what else?

How many hours on the engine? What makes you want to change the oil pump?

I would paint the engine while it was out paying extra attention to the oil pan and timing cover if there are any rust spots.

figured cheap insurance while it was out

I seriously doubt you need an oil pump.
Clean and paint everything on the engine and in the bilge.
Check everything you can't get to with the engine in the boat.
