perko switch not connected correctly

Help please, 2 battery system, 1 motor, perko w/1-2-both-off, batt#1 hot to post 1, batt#2 hot to post 2, starter to motor to comm on switch,

hot and ground from center console fed back to battery box I have hot to batt#1, grd to batt#1 neg

when switch is to off panel still on at console due to being hooked directly to batt #1
what do I hook console wires to to make shut off when switch is off

Hot from console goes to common on batt switch.

you should have the neg. post on the batteries hooked together or both run to the engine.

Thanks Lyle, so that would be the same post as the starter is connected to correct? I have my bilge pump hooked direct to the battery

yup should say common on it.


You should add a fuse about 6 inches from the battery on the wire going to the dash.
see what size your wire is and look it up online for the size of the fuse.

The helm should be fed by a minimum 10GA wire, protected by a minimum 30A fuse or breaker (preferred). The preferable is to feed the helm with 8GA and protect with a 40A breaker, within 7" of the batt. I prefer to come off the batt switch, keeps the terminations off the batt...
