Unmotivated seller or really busy?

Found THE boat - been in contact with the seller a few times.

Trying to get everything lined out so I can pick up the boat, and either get told, "I'll call you back later" or just goes to voicemail.

Sorry - just venting a bit. If you have a boat for sale, then why ignore me?

Maybe the wife wants it sold and he doesn't want to sell it, he's probably telling her he can't get ahold of you.

Well....... be persistent and get some closure. The only concern that the "unreliable" seller attitude may also be a reflection of his/her maintenance cares. If you eventually get close enough to touch the boat.....check out the boat and maintenance carefully.

I am wondering if any money has changed hands.

Thank goodness no (in my case anyways). As flaky as he has been, I think it is probably a good thing.

It strikes me as odd that a boat can sit on CL for 2 months, then I email/call the seller about it, and in less than a week later he has a deposit on it without any word to me. I had everything lined up for the certified check to be cut - that would have really ticked me off!

As I see it, there are a ton of boats out there - we'll find a deal eventually. Just got to be patient and find the "right" one.

Meh - could be fate in the works. Found another nice boat - heading to look at it in a few. Hoping it works out! It is well priced, so I'm hoping it is a really good deal.

Wish me luck!

When and if he does call you back I would tell him you found another boat $1000 cheaper and you are to pick it up the next day, care to change your price?

Re: Unmotivated seller or really busy?

Thanks for the welcome Tim.

It was fate (or blind luck). We went and looked at our boat last night. It has some work to do to it, but the price was definitely right! Going to pick it up on Thursday or this weekend. Plus, it is a much closer drive, so that is icing on top!

:D

Everything happens for a reason ;) Nice boat but, why is it a project? Getting real close to moving this post but first I need to know what type of project.

The one flaw is that the passenger chair has an issue with the floor.

I have a post started In the hull repair section (hoping the right one) :)

No problem deleting this one or moving Bob. Either is fine with me.

Thanks

Re: Unmotivated seller or really busy?

I see you started a post in the restoration section. Seems like a fairly easy repair.

Re: Unmotivated seller or really busy?

I'm hoping so! I've only helped a friend glass some stuff on his boat about 15 years ago, so I'm pretty green when it comes to this repair, but I'm pretty confident that with my wife and iboats motivating me, I can get it done and ready for this season.

The VEC throws me a bit - I'm just not sure what that means in terms of patching. I'm betting the good folks here will be more than accommodating, though. :)
