Cranks but wont start, it's shooting fuel out of the carb, out of the engine compartment, with the flame arrestor off, any suggestions.

Hey Rodeo, are you sayin that fuel is coming out the top of the carb and shooting up when you have the flame arrestor off??? If so you should do a compression test, you may have a stuck valve or two, or maybe a burnt valve. Sounds like the compression from one or more jugs is pushing back out the intake.

With the flame arrestor off and cranking the motor fuel is coming out of the needle? looks like a straw that goes down into? about a 45 degree angle coming out of the top of the carb, and its a pretty fair amount of fuel too.

Any ideas on what the carb kit part # is so I can order from iboats? Or the SC part # to cross reference?

Everything you need to know about the carb and the re-build kit is on the little metal tag under one of the screws that hold the top of the carb onto the bottom of the carb.

And I wish that little tag was there, but unfortunately there is only the corner of it left under one of the screws.

Ayuh,... There'll be a name or numbers cast into the carb casting,...

Look it over Closely....

If this is a Rochester 2 barrel carb, and you just purchased the boat -- someone may have attempted a rebuild and didn't notice a check ball. Failure to reinstall the check ball (if the carb had one) causes this issue.
