i have a 1979 evinrude 115hp motor and the shifter will not go into the reverse position..anyone help?
First off disconnect the shift and throttle cables from the mtr. Then try it. This will tell you if the prob is in the control box or the mtr.[/QUO
Of course boobie means to try to shift it from the motor after the cable has been disconnected. I know that it seems that this would be given, but I actually had someone call me once with this problem, told him to disconnect shift cabe and then try it, so he did, from the control box, lol.
He called back and said it still wouldnt go into reverse, geesh, some ppl
