Hello y'all,

My boat came off the trailer while driving down the road last year and the bottom of the lower unit got scratched up pretty bad. When 'brushing' the bottom of the unit with my fingers, I get a tiny bit of oil as if the unit was 'sweating' oil. I inspected it and can't find a real leak; it doesn't drip, there's no puddle of oil or anything. It seems like oil just sweats thru the housing.
Anyhow, do y'all think I can use some sort of filler product to seal the bottom of the housing? Something like Rhino liner or Devcon, or something else?

If not what do you recommend I do (beside replacing the lower unit housing)?

Thanks

a good epoxy like JB weld can help seal non pressure leaks like that or gas tank leaks. But you may just has some oil coming from your exhaust and getting on your gearcase. You should get your gear case pressure tested or take out tour to gear case plug and see if it drips then.
