BRP part numbers are the same?

Gearcase part numbers are the same, driveshaft part numbers are the same but shift rods have different numbers, you may have to look into that a little more, could be as simple as just swapping one to the other. The evinrude is listed as a 1974 model btw, no 70hp in 1973.

I think you will be ok, the water pump kits have different part numbers also, dont think that will be an issue though, its actually obsolete for the johnno, go figure.

For $50 how can you go wrong. It has a ton of usable parts, that you can keep or spares or sell to make some beer money.

I haven't researched it, but you must have because you say the part numbers are the same. Any time the part number is the same, the part is the same. But note that different ASSEMBLED units may use the same empty gearcase. Just like a Chevy and Pontiac might use the same muffler.
