Can anyone tell me what "trim extenders" are? Do all motors have them. I have seen them in many marine catalogs but havent wanted to shell out$25 for them if they wouldnt help me. I am running a 15hp merc, do you think thay might help me just curious.

thanks

Re: trim extenders

Not sure what you mean, but if it's a fin you attach to the cavitation plate of the motor, all motors do not have them. They are installed by owers to provide lift of the stern upon accelerating, therefore planeing the boat out faster in some applications. They are supposed to ride above the surface of the water, once on plane. It may help your motor. Or it may not. Just have to try it. Many are against installing them, but they work for me. Hope this is what you're asking..

they are bolts that allow you to replace the standard ones to get up to 4 degrees more use out of your trim. only helps big motors get more lift.
