Mercruiser engine switch

Currently right now I have a 1999 Starcraft boat with a 1999 mercruiser 3.0 engine, Im replacing it with a 2005 Mercruiser 3.0 engine and i was woindering if any mods would be needed in order to replace it? Does anyone know? (its an Alpha-1 external drive).

Should be a straight bolt on.

Quite true. I have been 'at the helm' at 100' feet below.... Fortunately it was not my boat... :)
