A number is stamped in the right back of boat, YR16-5287. The owner has no idea, and actually registered the boat as a Crestliner. It has the original teal interior, but he reapainted the exterior. Based on a brief search, I think it might actually be an older Alumacraft. Thanks for your help.IMG00108-20110127-1120.jpg

Nice looking boat. I can't answer your question, but if you contact Alumacraft with the serial number, they can help you. Good luck.

Re: Is this boat a Alumacraft? YR16

Just received a call from AlumaCraft, I was told that the vin number shows that it is a 1965 Bel Mara 16 foot boat. Best I can tell it still has the original Johnson Seahorse V4 2 Cycle 60HP motor. Most of the boat is original and is very solid. Looking forward to some restoration and boating once the ice is off our Minnesota lakes. Thanks.

If anyone on this forum happens to have this boat, could you post some pictures? I would really like to see how it originally looked and possibly restore it. Thanks.

I don't have the Bel Mara but do own the Maracaibo (from the same family). There are actually 3 in the Family, Bel Mara, Maracaibo & Tampico. Please see the attached page from the Alumacraft brochure. I have also attached the spec sheet and a few shots of my Maracaibo. Nice boat!

Here are the some interior shots of the Maracaibo. I was lucky to find mine, with the original unrestored interior.

Thanks a bunch for the information, picitures, and the brochure information. It has really been a challenger finding any information about this boat, very little available on the web or else where. I really appreciate the pics and I plan to have mine restored to look like yours. I have attached a few other pics of mine, has very similar interior including dash and steering. I really like the hood ornament, very old school cool. Thanks again

No I didn't, but that is definetely something I will be looking for. I think you are pretty lucky to have it, I will likely have to have one custom made for my boat. I will keep you updated on my restoration project, unfortunately, I live in MN, so it might wait until spring.

Here a few more pics of my 1965 Alumacraft Bel Mara 17 Foot, I am hoping to have it repainted like the boat above and what it looked like originally.
