1984 Evinrude 35 hp oil leaking

My son's Evinrude has oil leaking from prop area after use on the wate. We just noticed a small spot on the driveway under the motor. It appears to be coming from the exhaust. We also noticed oil up under the flywheel of the engine. Could the two problems be related? We knew the leak under the flywheel was there, but we never had oil show up thru the prop exhaust. We are reasonably sure the oil below is not gear oil from the lower unit. It's more like oily exhaust. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks, George Santee, CA

The two are not related; the oily drip is most likely unburned oil from the exhaust and is normal most drip all the time. If it is black and smells like gas that's what it is.

Thanks so much Will Bark I was pretty sure the oil was unburned exhaust. What about the oil pooling under the flywheel of the engine? What would be causing that and how would that be repaired?
