Guys

I know that some of you do not feel that there is a difference between starting bats and dual purpose bats but for those of you that do

Advance Auto Parts is running a sale on Marine Starting Batteries. ( not sure what size ) $59.95 and the back of the ad has a $10.00 off coupon for purchases over $50.00. $49.95
Not a bad deal

Re: Batteries on sale

Guys

The Advance bats are made by Johnson Controls (Same as Walmart, Sam's, Costco )
Johnson also makes Interstate
the Interstate will be made alittle heaver than the other brands but not much
this is through an exec at interstate
At this time Interstate is having trouble getting bats due to the demand of these other brands

Johnson Controls ownes 49% of Interstate and Norm Miller ownes 51%
just FYI

Re: Batteries on sale

Interesting. I just looked at a Group 29 at Sam's the other day with full warranty for $83.
Wal Mart had only Group 24 and 27 batts for more money. They did not say Interstate on them either.
I read here that Wal Mart is no longer giving warranties on their batts due to abuse by customers.

The one they have on sale is a Group 24 Deep Cycle. Only info I could get was that it had 460 cca.

Guys

My contact says

There deal with Walmart and Sams is about 3 months old
Walmart and Sams will be 12-18 months total replacement

Advance will be 12months total replacement nothing after that

he said if the bat lasts 1 month and is properly maintained you should not need a warranty with any bat.

Re: Batteries on sale

Thanks, I wonder why the ones in my local WM don't have any Interstate logos on them like the ones in Sam's. Oh well, it makes little difference at this point as I will buy the heavier capacity Group 29 for less money at Sam's over the Group 27 at WM. It was about $11 cheaper.
