This came with a lot of extras, some not even related to it.

Holy crap, those are great extra's. Almost worth more than the '59! The black box looks like a 2 cylinder power pack for a later engine.

That makes sense, it would be consistant with the head gasket in the same pic. early 80's 35hp

Very nice. I saw that one on ebay. :)

Could post the model number and some pics under the cowl? I have a 1959 35 hp Evinrude too and would like to compare...

Holy smokes that engine is in great shape!!! Nice. And I see your compression relief has been removed. Have you tried pull starting it yet?

Re: New Project

yes, you cant pull start it w/o the cowl on while on the stand
I was able to p/s her but not until after I used the electric start to get the carb settings close. I dont have a compression gauge but I can tell you it feels very good and feels the same for each cylinder. I have no doubt it is a very low hour motor.
Not sure why the compression release was removed

Re: New Project

I sold it to a guy in Minn, after fuel to get it and drop it at the terminal, I broke even. However, I think I am ahead of the game with the wiring and the extras
