I'm looking for a portside windshield for my 88 Capri that broke last winter due to snow and ice on the cover. If searched and searched this subject from time to time. I ended up cutting some plexi-glass and making that work. It does the job but I would like to do it right so it looks right. My question is what years will work in this boat? Its an open bow not the cabin hull, 18' with the 85HP outboard engine. Thanks for any help that anyone might give.

Re: 1988 Bayliner Capri 18' needs portside glass

Welcome to iboats!

I had a similar situation with my boat, except it was the starboard windshield. I used 3/16" Lexan to replace mine. If I had to do it over again (which I may end up doing; the Lexan is tough but way too flexible), I would make a template of the windshield to a local glass shop and have a piece of tempered glass made. That's what the originals are made of, and this would be a lot less money than an original. You can find an original once in a while on eBay, but they tend to go for $200 and up for each piece of glass.

BTW, there were no 18' Capris in '88. You likely have the same boat I do.
