i recently purchased an 07 merc. 40 efi. runs good but a little slow out of the hole. i already changed props.better but lost a little top speed. what about changing injectors? what about air intake?is there an air restrictor plate or something that will increase air flow

Don't you think it would help to know what kind/size of boat this motor is being asked to push?? If the motor is too small for the boat no amount of parts swapping is going to fix that.

Nope....nope and no. The only thing you can do to that motor is change the EMM/ECU to a 50hp and thats about a $1000. It will make engine a 50 hp but 10hp increase is only good for 3-5 mph depending on boat type,weight,set-up.
