Re: Link -n-sync

It is the process of synchronizing throttle opening with igntion timing. On an outboard, throttle linkage and ignition timing linkage are interconnected. Anytime that linkage is messed with or carburetors are removed, this process of synchronization must be performed. It is generically called link & sync but various service manuals may call it any number of things. Carburetor synchronization, Timing synchonization are two that come to mind.

Re: Link -n-sync

The service manual section dedicated to this procedure is titled "Timing/synchronizing/adjusting XXX HP.

It's different for each engine. Use the factory manual for your engine.

hope it helps
