Re: Evinrude 25hp help

Drill two small holes, side by side, lengthwise, through the screw. Then, keep drilling the holes with progressivly larger bits till they reach the threads, and hopefully intersect in the middle. Then the screw will hopefully collapse toward the center and you can remove the pieces. Can be done, takes practice.

They sell replacement kits for those once you get the old one out.

I'd use a sawzall cut it near the transom,Then use a pipe wrench after its off the boat.If you have no sawzall a hacksaw.

Re: Evinrude 25hp help

Personally I would not use an easy out, I have never had luck with em. I'd drill it out. Some folks use left handed drill bits to do it. If I had some I'd try it also but normal ones work well also.

Re: Evinrude 25hp help

Stay away from the Easy Outs. If you break one of them off you've got some real probs. Stick with the drilling it out as FR suggested.
