Motorguide Trolling Motor Problem

One day I came home and noticed my trolling motor was running on its own. It has an on off toggle switch and a toggle switch for high bypass, momentary on, and constant on. It will stop running if you cut the on/off toggle switch off, but if you cut it back on it runs wide open no matter what you have the other switch set to. I was wondering if this is a toggle switch problem or something else? Please Help! I'm going through fishing withdrawals not being able to get out on the water.

Re: Motorguide Trolling Motor Problem

Hi Bypass is just exactly what it says. Select that mode and the motor will run wide open without anything else selected. It is the same as constant on but it selects HI-SPEED. Constant on runs continuously but only at the speed you have selected. High Bypass allows you to give a quick burst of power to avoid a stump, change direction quickly, or a number of other moves by flipping the switchl. Turning it off resumes the speed you had before. Seems to be operating as it should.
