Just got off the tractor and clearing snow in 7 degree (-3 wind chill) temps. Brrrrr.... Not a good time at all. On the flip side, the forcast says I get to do it all again this weekend. Bah, Humbug!

That is why I love my 3/4 Ton Chebby Plow truck....... it has a really nice adjustable heating system. My wife asked me why don't you put a plow on the ATV....... no heater! I feel bad for the snow blower people ....... they lack the comfort too.

I use my ATV(got it fixed, amazing, the new shift handle fixed the other problem) But I can sure tell you this, I am looking for a plow system to put on the front of my '86 Nissan Hard Body, so I have the heater and lights, plowing in the middle of the night on the ATV is something everyone should experience at least once, but not more! LOL And with this year, I would love to have more weight behind the plow, the ATV is in well over its head right now, we have about 5 feet on the ground as I type this..

I used to be one of those blower guys. Had a New Holland 4x4 tractor w/heated cab and a 6' blower. Only problem was, I had to trailer it all over the countryside to different accounts. Unloading/loading/chaining it down. Did that for 10 years while watching guys with trucks drive by in t-shirts to their acoounts. Went home one day and told the wife, "that's it". Sold the tractor and bought a plow. Yep, gotta like the adjustable heating system, music on demand(satelite). Come to a drive, hit a button to drop the plow and go at it!

Afraid a pickup truck wouldn't be able to handle it. I almost got the 4 wheel drive tractor stuck. I had drifts (packed hard by the wind) that were 4' or better and a couple hundred foot long in a couple places. Run into them with the loader and watch the rear wheels come off the ground when I tried to lift the loader. :( Had to just chip away at them until I could get through them.

One word, V-Plow, no problem. It's amazing what a v-plow can go thru. And a 3/4 ton Dodge of course with aggressive rubber to get you thru..:)

Snow blower people??? Hey, hey there! The Bosslady got me one since she had to shovel all of last winter (hee, hee, hee). All it takes is a set of thermals, heavy jeans, snow mobile pants, dense sweater, and a heavy duty down coat that I bought in Minneapolis a number of years ago. Then add some boots good to -20 and I was warm and toasty. Granted, if I fell I couldn't get back up on my own.

I don't have a long driveway in the city so within a half-hour I was done. With the pending move, the drive there is close to 100 feet, up a steep hill, and a huge parking area, so it will take me longer. But then, I'll also be doing my neighbors drive after I get mine done since she is 92 and doesn't shovel much snow any more.

Wimusky - Yep, that was pretty much what I looked like. Although, I am a bit older, taller and more rotund.

That's what you get living in Misery, I mean Missouri. Gee we have snow to the north, snow to the south, Snow does not like Iowa this year!

But I must admit, since I got a plow for my Crapman tractor, its nicer sitting then running the snowblower!
