I have a 1997 50 hp. yamaha, it runs and idels good for the first 10 min and then it looses power and will only do about 2800 RPM. I had the carbs rebuilt but it still will only pull 26/2800 RPM, it always starts and idels good. any ideas?

Have you tested the alarm system lately to see if it is functioning properly?
Sound like a over heat or oil level problem but the buzzer is not going off

Spark test, if I remember correctly, does this engine have a crank position sensor that controls one cylinder? I would check for spark on all cylinders first.

nope no CPS on those motors.
It is always a good idea to first check compression and spark when working on a motor.
Especially if you have been running it while it has a problem.

But you must always make sure the alarm system is functioning properly.
If it is going into the safe mode because of over temp or low oil level the timing will be retarded and you can see that with a timing light
