What kind of engine? (Obviously an oil pressure gauge won't be of much use on a 2-stroke outboard).

If it's an outboard:

speedometer
tachometer
water presssure
tilt/trim (if you have power trim)
maybe a voltmeter

Couldn't figure out what you all were talking about.

If it's an outboard consider a water pressure gauge.

You actually don't need any gauges, just put on what you want to have.

With a small boat like you have a tach and a volt meter are really the only ones you should have, a volt meter especially if you plan to go with 1 battery.

It is all up to what you want.

For your outboard boat, I agree that a tachometer and voltmeter top the list. If you don't plan on having a GPS or fish-finder with speedometer capability, add a pitot speedometer. But these aren't the most accurate devices in the world.
