Where do I drain the manifold on my 1973 Mercruiser 165 in an Aristocraft 19. I see large plugs on the sides and there are some small (maybe 5/16) bolts on the bottom. Do I just remove the small bolts on the bottom or the larger plugs (look like a 1/2" square hole)?

Ayuh,... Is this a 165hp 6 cylinder or 4 cylinder,..??

If the 6 cylinder, there should be a pipe plug drain on the Very Bottom of the manifold,...
Just above the Block's drain....

It's the 6 and I found it. Took 7/16 wrench and a mix of antifreeeze and water and maybe oil came out. If I run the engine on the muffs I figure I can drain the manifold and block and be ok for the rest of the winter. What do you think? It is 70 now but will have more winter to come in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
