Re: ranks?

Yes...a certain aloofness and standing in the Iboats community. That and 5 bucks gets you a Starbucks coffee....;)

Now quote the "Dunks decarb" method word for word and that may get you some real status...or tell me what year did Yamaha stop using steel shift rods and go to stainless??

Assuming your input has been good for each post you make, the rank gives your input an assumed level of respect. Does not mean anything more than how many times you posted a comment.

Like this one I am making... I get another post to my tally. Truly, what matters is learning to trust most everyone and be careful of the jokes (those that pull your leg) with fun and games.

Read to learn and add input to provide help.

For every bump in rank, you get a 20% pay increase over the pay you get from your current rank.

Basically it's this..."Must be present to attend". Attendance is rewarded here. Knowledge is abundant also, but it takes some sorting. :)

Re: ranks?

and if you want to change your name (as I did) you have to go back to "go".

But it was worth it; the death threats and hackings have dwindled since I stopped using my real name

Re: ranks?

The more you help people the higher rank you get.
Along with that is the posibility that someone who doesn't know anything will go away with some knowledge.
And then there's the posibility that someone who thinks they know everything will tell you your opinions suck!!But you rank goes up even more when you figure out a way to kindly say stick it!!(not you)
This is a great site and it helps a lot of people.I know some, somepeople know somemore. Some negative, some good.
Enjoy the site,I do.Jerry

I mean Captain Jerry Or Captain jerryjerry05 I admire the guys who have thousands and thousands and thousands of posts.
I figure they are GOOD people who sincerly want to help.

Re: ranks?

Man, I hated being a seaman, couldn't wait to get to the next rank.

Only 16,000 more post and I get to be the "Fishmaster Supreme", that should only take another 20 years.

Re: ranks?

4,000 posts and you get the key to the Admirals bathroom and admission to the Admirals lounge. You do however have to clean those same bathrooms and serve the drinks in the lounge to the higher ranking Admirals until you reach a higher status yourself. :D:D

Re: ranks?

I stole this from Don S ...
The rank of a poster here at iboats is
advanced by post count only.
The ranks, although similar, are not exactly like
our Navy's ranking system. It is strictly iboats

For some the rank means a reflection of the poster's knowledge. For others it means the poster likes to see their own posts.

It is up to the reader to determine which is the truth. (That's another post for me!;):p 110 more for another star and a higher pay grade!)
