5.7 MPI "misses" on throttle down

Hey all,

I've got a 2003 5.7L Mercruiser MPI. Engine starts fine, idles fine and runs normally. I've noticed the last couple of times out, that when throttling down to idle speeds (about 1200 RPMs) from running speed (about 3700 RPMs) that the engine seems to miss. For a split second, seems like the engine shuts down and catches again. I don't have a scan tool so can't check for codes. No engine alarms or warnings -- everything else seems to be fine.

Thinking that this issue might be a Throttle Position Sensor? Possibly an IAC?

Any way to diagnose other than the scan tool?

Nope,... Seems ain't much of a diagnosis point to Me...

If it Stalls, then We'll have something to go on...

It doesn't stall -- it *almost* stalls but catches and then idles properly. Only happens when I am bringing it from high RPMs (>3000) to low RPMs (<1500).
