Having talked to several auto mechanics and owning two vehicles with 350 engines that both achieved over 250,000 miles with no major mechanical work. The consensus was that the GM 350 was a "bulletproof" engine. My question to the marine mechanics out there is this. Is the marine version of the GM 350 "bulletproof" too?

I believe 69 or 70 was the debut of the 350 and they were made with the same basic design for twenty-some years until computers and injection changed everything. No other motor has as many replacement parts or performance upgrades available. You can build one as "bullet-proof" as you need cheaper than any other production motor. They are about as reliable as you can get.

I have an L82 350 in my boat and judging by the spec sheet its bullet proof times 2.
