Re: any ideals

By marking I assume you mean to identifiy? I've used the two layer plexiglass, like door signs are made of. Comes in tons of colors and works easily. I just cut the shape I need and lay it out, then off to the engraver and cut in the details.

Sounds nice. I was thinking using wood for gauge panel.Did you engrave it yourself?

Here's my dash re-do.
Its been about 10 years since I did it but I changed all of it.
I made the wood panels out of luan. (spelling??)
I have all the switches on the left for bilge, navigation lights, livewell selector and a spare. the stuff on the right is the horn, the trim/tilt and the livewell timer control.
The actual dash has the speedo, tach, battery and fuel. (the battery and fuel is revision 2 because the battery gauge was an after thought.
notice the extra oval-ular piece of wood there in the middle.
The ignition is below it on the right and the deadmans switch is ont the left.
it didnt leave any room for my lowrance but its nothing that a RAM mount couldnt cure.

I think cadwelder meant laminated plastic engraving plates.

Check out your local trophy shop for materials and capabilities.

I have seen some nice dashes done using black haircell ABS.
Some suppliers will also CNC cut it via a cad drawing.
