Along with a blizzard of bad news this week we have lost Dandy Don Meredith.

He was the first great Dallas Cowboys quarterback, and he made Monday Night Football entertaining for many years. . .even putting up with Howard Cosell.

I worked for his brother in the '70s and had the honor of meeting him a few times. A thoroughly charming and lovable man.

If you are too young to remember him, believe me; You missed a winner.

I still use his phrase "turn out the lights.....the party's over". Got to around here! :D

They always come in three's. Leslie Neilson, Don Meridith...who's the third?

He was the Dallas QB in the "Ice Bowl" NFL championship game in '67. One of the greatest games I ever saw. They talk about Bart Starr's keeper play that won that game, but never mention Dandy Don.

Too bad. A shame to lose him.
