1961 75 hp. johnson timing marks

Hey friends i have an 1961 75hp. johnson outboard motor , with a battery dist. and my service manual for the flywheel timing marks sayes the red dot on the flywheel ring. Well there is not a red mark on my flywheel i see the mark on the dist. once you pull the breaker plate off. Can anyone help with the timing on this motor for me? thanks bigb-man69.

If the engine has an alternator, there's a red dot on that thing somewhere. If no alternator, there's a raised line on the flywheel that you can't miss.
