I heard a guy the other day say he had a 1987 17.5' Sea Hunt center console boat with a Johnson 135 OB.

According to iboats here, the Sea Hunt brand started in 1995. And as far as I can tell, in 1987 Johnson made a 120 and a 140, but no 135.

So what might a 1987 "Sea Hunt" be? Maybe a model name in another manufacturer's line? What years did Johnson produce a 135 OB?

Did I perhaps simply mishear?

Maybe it is a '97? Sea Hunts are great boats, in my opinion

I recall the 135 Johnson from the early 70's. Possibly the first v6?

Sea Hunt is the type of name that may have been used before--remember the TV show about the submarine?

I remember a TV show by that name... but it wasn't about a submarine. It followed the adventures of a diving character named Mike Nelson; played by Lloyd Bridges. It was popular in the late 1950s/early 1960s.

The boat in that show was called the Argonaut and it was a Trojan Sea Breeze, 34' long cabin cruiser.

A 135 was the largest V4 but I think they became 140s in the late 70's. So that motor could be OLD.
