Fuel stabilizer question

I routinely add gasoline fuel stabilizer to my boat fuel. I recently found a container of STA-BIL that I had squirreled away in a cupboard. It's probably 7-8 years old. Does this sutff have a shelf life? I think the label says two years but they are usually very conservative. Should I pitch it or use it?

Re: Fuel stabilizer question

If the label says 2 years pitch it. Why risk screwing up an expensive to repair fuel system for a bottle of stuff that costs a just a few bucks.

Re: Fuel stabilizer question

From there website:

Q: What is the shelf life of STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer?
A: 2 years after the bottle has been opened, provided it has been tightly capped and stored in a cool, dry place. If the bottle is never opened and under the original factory seal, than the shelf life is 5 to 6 years from manufacture.
