Do I have VRO?

Hello, I'm new to boats, just got my first one, and had to get a new engine for it. Some of you may have seen my other post on that little nightmare. However, I picked up a 73 johnson 115 for it. The boat itself has an in floor mounted tank, and the filler neck is on the port side of the boat. To me it seems that would be a little hard to mix the gas and oil like that. Does a 73 Johnson 115 have a VRO pump on it? if so where is the oil supplied from to mix with the gas? Maybe someone can give me a link or just explain this system a little clearer for me. Thanks!

Re: Do I have VRO?

Mixing oil in an under-deck tank is not rocket science. Here is a technique that is quite simple.

1) Add 6 gallons of fuel
2) Add one pint of oil
3) add six gallons of fuel
4) add one pint of oil
5) repeat as necessary.

As you approach full, cut the ratio to 3 gallons and 1/2 pint. When you move the boat 10 feet the oil and fuel will be mixed. No issue with that. Once you get used to the relationship between the gas gauge and the volume of the tank this is a very quick way to do this.
