Yamaha 15hp 4stroke-not much power, not peeing

I just bought a 15 hp yamaha 4-stroke electric start outboard. It is not peeing and it does not have much power. The motor and the upper portion of the lower unit became extremely hot after running it. Could the power problem and peeing problem be related or does this sound like two separate problems?.....This motor has a longer shaft than my other motor, so the prop is pretty deep in the water. Could this be the reason why there was no power?

i would say yes!!!!!!!!! those two factors are directly related, first check to see if it is pumping water, check pee tube , see if it is clogged, if not clogged, how old is motor? even if new or nos, still maybe impeller, next poppet, or thermostats, how about a infared thermo, plus model # and service manual to check operating temp
