Anybody out there know anything about the 96 150 Intruder. What does the Intruder stand for? A friend has one and he says something about it being the "poor man's injection"? What's special about it compared to a regular 96 150, apparently there is a difference. Anybody know about this at all?
Thanks

It a 60? degree carb motor and only difference is color and decals. Evenrude is Intruder and Johnson is Fast Strike . The cowlings came in several different colors and also branded as Ocean Runner. Its one of the best power to weight ratio motors OMC ever produced and only draw back is it hates to be lugged. There was one year they made a hot model but it was a 175.

One of the best big mtrs OMC ever built. Easy to work on and parts cost fairly reasonable. It had carbs, no fuel injection and a very simple ignition system.

Right On! Thanks guys! So apparently it's just a marketing scheme for decals. I know it's a good engine and knew the basics, but didn't know if there was anything apecial about it. He has it on a 17' Glastron and we can get 3 slalomers out of the water with ease, the thing is a work horse!
