Hello this is my first post so be gentle. I am in the process of replacing the lower unit on my 98 johnson 50 spl, the lower units I have found are either 4 spline or 14 spline, I count 17 splines on the shaft. What am I doing wrong? Or is there such a thing as a 17 spline shaft. The shaft measures 3/4" from top to bottom. What do I need to look for to buy the correct lower unit the first time? Thanks for your help.
