I am wanting to be able to locate my Humminbird 587ci in two different locations. My question is for everyone out there in boating land, is there anyway of having only one transducer and splicing it or running a Y connector and having it go to both the locations? I guess is there anyway of putting it on the trolling motor. ( I have kind of givin up on that ) Becouse as it turn in circles it cuts the wire comming to and from the transducer? Or is the only opption to have two transducers on the back? Please help, I am very new to all of this and I would very much appreciate it.

Re: Trouble with my Transducer

Not sure what size/style boat you're using.

Can you coil the transducer cable for one position and un-coil it for the other location?

Or two transducers, one cable goes to location A the other to B.

They do make trolling motor mounts...the cable is fastened to the motor to keep it from getting eaten!

17' ProCraft.

I did mount it via a hose clamp to the underside of the t/m and the wire runs up the shaft. That's where it gets cut.

I don't understand what you mean " coil " it?

Re: Trouble with my Transducer

Oh I think I understand coil it. It or they can both be mounted in the same place on the transome. I'm just wondering if I can just have the one transducer going or running to two different locations on the boat. So all I will have to do is if I'm not in one spot fishing just pull my depth finder out of that mount and slide it in the front mount. Or vers visa. Utilizing two mounts but just one transducer.
Thank you so much please keep helping

HB makes a transducer switch US2W that will switch one transducer between two mounts.

A little pricey. You will also need a mount MSM: http://store.humminbird.com/products/323118/MS_M and power cord: http://store.humminbird.com/products/323029/PC_10

Getting a second station with transducer is lower cost: http://store.humminbird.com/products/313984/DBK2

They do not make a Y cord to split a trnsducer to two mounts. While it might work (with a little noise) if you had only one head unit between the two mounts. Two head units plugged in could cause shorting.
