I am considering buying a used 26' Wellcraft Coastal 260 for a total refit.

All I really want is the hull and I'm concerned about any contruction materials that were used other than fiberglass as structural support.

Are the decks. stringers, transom or any other structural members made of wood or laminated with wood as a structural support?

Are there any questionable construction or materials in the hull that 25 years of weather and use I should be concerned about?

My plans are as an off shore boat with twin outboard engines using an Armstrong bracket.

Hows the ride in 5 footers at 25 knots?

Thanks,

Randy

3/4"plywood sandwiched between 1/4" fiberglass hull-wooden stringers

strudy unless it rots. you may have to beef up the transom for a tramsom bracket with twin V6 outboards if removing inboard.

you'll have a ton of storage in the old engine compartment.( floor mounted livewell & fish boxes.)

it will ride well in rough water.probaly raise alot of fish too:cool:
