Three Questions :
1 >> Which cylinder is # 1 ? The top one (I think).

2 >> What is the torque on the head bolts and is there a special sequence ?

I need a manual on this motor . Which one is best ?

Top Cylinder is #1

Head bolt torque: If 5/16 bolts (1/2 inch heads), 225 inch pounds
If 3/8 bolts (9/16 inch heads), about 260 inch pounds--whatever is
standard torque for that size bolt. (I forget the exact number.)
Torque the bolts to final in at least two steps in a spiral pattern
from the center out.

Clymers manual is decent.

12 inches to one pound, so divide by 12. HOWEVER: You will lose some accuracy using a foot pound torque wrench at only 18-22 foot pounds. It would be better to try and borrow an inch pound wrench. If you intend to work on your engine consistently, it would be better to break down and buy one.--OR: Christmas is coming, need I say more?
