Been stood for a couple of years, not getting a spark.
I have a Clymer manual which has wiring dia's but no ignition testing info.

Any help appreciated.

Anyone have any figures for testing of pickup coil/stator, switchbox or coils?

Re: Mariner 9.9 no sparks.....

check your Mercury switch(if you have one)
its a little black switch (should be by your switchboards). its maine porpuse is to kill the ending if the engine is lifted out of the water..
to test that just disconnect the ground(tape it up so it isnt connected) and tryit.

if still nothing
get a test light. test to make sure you have voltage to your rectifyer.

the standard outboard is.

Battery-Rectifyer-stater-trigger-to switchboard(s)-mercury switch-to coils-to plugs.
. so start from the battery and work your way down the line. you should have voltage going into your stator(coming from rectifyer) if the key is turned to the "on position"

also use a spark tester to make sure your getting no spark, and it not someother problem.
