Hello I am new with a ton of questions. (Please forgive me as I do not know most/all of the boating terms, but I will describe the best I possibly can) So I just bought a 15 foot 1975 Glastron for $400. It's gonna need some fixing up (but is ready to run on the ocean/lake but I wanna make sure it's in tip top condition), came with a 75 hp Chrysler engine, which I was told works well. After checking out the boat once I got it home, I noticed weak flooring so I decided to dig some up, lot of floor rotted. It's not a big deal to fix, easy enough. I looked all over the bottom of boat and there is no visible cracks etc that would leak in the boat. Now I located where the water was coming from (ripped up all the carpet as I plan to put something else down). The catch in the back of the boat where the drain plug is located, the area surrounding the water catch has two holes, one on each side. They seem to belong there, but I am not completely sure, I can provide pictures if needed. Also, I'm trying to decide on what type of floor to replace it with, and if anyone knows a good place to get the wood I need to lay down before putting a product on top of it that would be great. I don't really live near the ocean areas in California, I'm about 2-3 hours away, but I got quite a few lakes all around me as I live near quite a few national parks.
Also I have not decided if I want to actually paint the boat, but I am leaning towards it, but I prob wouldn't do it professionally, it'd be done by me cause I can't see spending that type of cash on a boat of this age.
Any thoughts would be great.
