I just bought a 22' Doral Tara and I want to attach a board across the back to attach my downriggers to it. BUT I have no clue  as to how to set it up properly for the long arm downriggers or where to fasten the rodholders for the dipsy lines? For that fact I don't even know how to fasten the board down so I don't loose everything overboard either? Anyone out with the know how to help make me a happy fisherman

Remenber if you stand there looking at it long enough someone will come along and show you how to do it;)

Just a newbie here with downriggers.

Just a newbie here with downriggers.

1] What kind of downriggers, what length boom(s)
2] Why are you boarding them instead of direct mounting them?
3] Dipseys are best mounted higher or in tube rod holders; the higher the rod tip, the better that it will side plane if you set it to move off the side of the boat.

I recommend swivel bases for them. Easier to deal with the balls if you don't have Big Jon Captains Paks with the tip up feature.
