Ain't She a Beauty?

My husband and I recently purchased the property adjoining us. The previous owner was a hoarder, and one of the items we found was a 14-16 ft. fiberglass boat. I thought it was a Starcraft Speed Queen because of the logo on the side, but today I found a plate on the rear of the boat which says 'Glasspar.' Needless to say, I'm confused.

My questions:

1. Can anyone tell me the year/make/model of the boat?
2. Can the boat be restored? (I saved it from the burn pile. lol)

Any help you can give me will be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Ain't She a Beauty?

Speed Queen boats were manufactured by the Marine Division of The Glastex Co
Here is a couple pics circa 1960.
This link is a really good one. I suggest reading it.
Wow, 180 HP on an 18 footer, thats crazy...

Id almost bet money you have a 1962 there.

I think any thing is worth restoring if you want to do it.
Last, but not least. Welcome aboard.

Re: Ain't She a Beauty?

Thanks so much for the reply, and for the links. If she's a '62, that must be why I wanted to save her. We're the same model year. ;)

Now I just need to decide whether I have room for another impossible dream in my life. Rest assured I'll be posting again if I do.

Thanks again for the help.
